Jacques Schwarz-Bart "LIVE"
Featured Artists
Jacques Schwarz-Bart Quartet
The Quartet. Two years ago, Jacques Schwarz-Bart met Leon Parker. Their connection was immediate. Leon called Jacques, along side Baptiste Trotignon and Thomas Bramerie, to play with his new quartet at the Sunside. The performance was so emotional that they decided to make it a band that they simply called the Quartet, since it embodied their ideal of playing in a quartet situation. Since then they played a lot of concerts, mainly under the name of Schwarz-Bart, and often with Reggie Washington on bass instead of Thomas. But the initial version of the Quartet will be performing on July 18th at Le Duc des Lombards in Paris. They will be presenting a repertoire comprised of tunes by each of them.
Frank McComb
Frank McComb has become soul music royalty over the past half decade, with a string of excellent, ambitious projects and a SoulTracks Readers Choice Award to boot. And as good as he is as a recording artist, he may be even better live.
Lee Konitz New Quartet
NEW YORK TIMES: "...sparkling ....tantalizing..." WASHINGTON POST: "Besides making elegant use of Konitz's alto, the groups music is richly textured and often wonderfully evocative, a celebration of cultural diversity and thematic exploration." DOWNBEAT MAGAZINE: "...defies easy characterization...effective, evocative..."
Minsarah
“Minsarah (Prism) – in optics, a piece of translucent glass or crystal used to form a spectrum of light separated according to colors. Its cross section is usually triangular. The light becomes separated because different wavelengths or frequencies are refracted (bent) by different amounts as they enter the prism obliquely and again as they leave it.”
